Hello lovely readers,
These past six weeks or so have been full of non-stop bookish fun since the release of A Game Most Foul, and to say that I am exhausted would probably be a massive understatement.
I had the honor of attending ALA Annual in San Diego the last weekend of June, which was absolutely amazing and exhausting at the same time. Fellow Blink YA author, Shannon Stocker, and I held a panel over the importance of disability representation in YA Lit, and it ended up being one very special experience. There was a lot of laughter and tears and I hope people who attended the panel took something away from it.
(If you haven’t taken a look at Shannon’s upcoming release, Stronger at the Seams, click here to preorder — you won’t want to miss it!)
I was able to disconnect for a while when I went camping with the family, but now it’s back to reality. I’m trying to line up more book signings and other fun events to keep the fun going, but I won’t lie — this is a challenge when you also work full time and have two small kids. Ultimately though, it’s totally worth it. I absolutely love what I do — working with the disability community and being an author — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
If you haven’t had the chance to grab your copy of A Game Most Foul yet, click here to purchase from your favorite bookseller! If you have read the story and (hopefully!) loved it, please consider posting a review on sites like Amazon. Even if it’s only a few sentences, this helps authors out SO much! Another great way to support your favorite author is by requesting their book(s) from your local library.
More exciting things are headed your way, so please stay tuned. I plan to update my calendar as events are planned, so make sure to check back later!
Until next time!
Love,
Alison <3
